Grandma and Grandpa Smith's

Today we took the kids up to Grandma and Grandpa's (Smith's) house for the morning. The weather was great (meaning cloudy and slightly rainy), and made the drive more enjoyable. Simon was watching a DVD in the car and I realized it completely reminded me of our family trip to the Caribbean. It's funny the associations we make with things. I mentioned this to Amy, and she said it reminded her of the plane ride home from that trip, which isn't a good memory. Heh, it might be time to retire that DVD.

Great Grandma and Grandpa were there today too so we got a bonus to our visit.

Grandpa Smith had a project for Simon in his workshop, which Simon loved. They built a car out of wood together. Simon got to screw the pieces together with the power drill (which he insists is much too loud), and glue the wheels on. He loved it. Great idea Grandpa!

Then we all took a walk. Well, Simon and Grandma took a run. I got to carry Avery in the Bjorn, which is one of my favorite things to do. She was laughing pretty hard at Simon as she watched him run, and was kicking her legs like she was running. There are Koi fish at the golf course by them, and Simon had a fun time watching them and running around. Good times.
